Teaching tips

Pre-School students at a primary school of the rural schools group Zer Tres Branques singing 'The Giants Are Dancing'

'The Giants Are Dancing' is a fun movement song for children aged 3–6. Inspired by the much-loved festival giants of Catalonia, the song encourages children to make big, expressive movements — swinging their arms, stepping heavily, and spinning faster and faster as they dance.

As children sing and move, they naturally practise present continuous structures (The giants are dancing) action verbs and movement, vocabulary, rhythm and coordination while gaining confidence in speaking English.

"In a school like ours, where 90% of students come from diverse backgrounds, learning English through Catalan culture and traditions not only supports language development but also increases students’ motivation and sense of belonging."
