Genevieve is the founder of LaLa Open Edu, a non-profit offering free, high-quality music resources for English teachers and parents. An English Literature and Language graduate from Edinburgh University, she is also a mother of three and an experienced educator.
Based in rural Catalonia, Genevieve has spent the last five years creating methods to teach English through music, movement, play, and local culture. Inspired by her own children’s experiences of Catalan traditions—such as chestnut time, the Christmas “pooing log,” giants, and fire festivals—she founded LaLa Folk, a collection of songs and resources to help children express their culture in English. This later grew into LaLaLittleKids, playful songs for younger learners, and eventually LaLaOpenEdu itself.
Learning English through music helps children to internalise language naturally and spontaneously while also having fun. Now with LaLaOpenEdu, everyone can make full use of these free-for-members resources to improve children's experience of learning English.
